French Mediterranean hospitality brand Bagatelle is set to open its first Malta location at St George’s Bay on Saturday 31 October 2026, introducing a new luxury restaurant and beach club to the island’s hospitality market.

Developed in partnership with Malta-based Lifestyle Group, the venue will occupy more than 1,960 sq m of indoor and outdoor space, combining destination dining, beachfront lounging and evening entertainment.
The opening forms part of Lifestyle Group’s wider investment in St George’s Bay, which is attracting international restaurant and hospitality brands to the waterfront destination.
Bagatelle Malta will feature an indoor restaurant accommodating more than 180 guests, alongside a private dining room designed for smaller gatherings and events.
Outside, the beach club will provide a terrace and deck overlooking St George’s Bay, with a dedicated bar, lounge areas and sunbeds.
The venue has been designed to operate throughout the day and into the evening, combining restaurant dining with a beachfront hospitality and entertainment experience.
Its interiors draw inspiration from the French Riviera, incorporating shades of blue and warm orange, brass detailing, timber panelling and woven textures.
The restaurant’s culinary programme has been developed under the guidance of Bagatelle Corporate Chefs Rocco Seminara and Manon Santini, with Executive Chef Walter D’Ambrosio leading the kitchen in Malta.
The menu will focus on French Mediterranean cuisine, incorporating seasonal ingredients, locally sourced seafood and dishes designed for sharing.
Among the planned dishes are courgette flowers filled with goat’s cheese, Bagatelle’s signature tuna tartare and locally sourced fish prepared in lemon tree leaves.
Larger dishes will include whole salt-crusted organic chicken with tarragon, alongside Mediterranean sharing plates and seasonal coastal specialities.
The dessert selection will feature Bagatelle World, combining vanilla mousse, caramel and cashew crunch, and a Jivara chocolate pizzetta with caramelised Piedmont hazelnuts.
The food and beverage offering is intended to complement the venue’s day-to-night format, bringing together restaurant service, beach club facilities and evening entertainment.
Bagatelle’s arrival will add another international hospitality concept to the St George’s Bay development, which includes a growing collection of restaurants, bars and leisure destinations.
The French Mediterranean brand operates across international locations and is recognised for its combination of restaurant dining, music and entertainment.
Robert DeBono, Director and CEO of Lifestyle Group, said: “The decision for Bagatelle to open in Malta is a significant milestone for the island’s hospitality industry and a strong reflection of Malta’s growing international appeal. With 15 destinations across the globe, Bagatelle is one of the world’s most recognised lifestyle hospitality brands, and its arrival further positions Malta alongside leading global luxury destinations. This investment not only elevates the local dining and entertainment scene, but also reinforces Malta’s reputation as a world-class destination for premium tourism and lifestyle experiences.”
The opening follows Lifestyle Group’s wider plans to develop St George’s Bay as a hospitality and leisure destination, bringing together established international brands and locally developed restaurant concepts.
For Malta’s hospitality market, Bagatelle represents a further addition to the island’s premium dining and entertainment sector, with the new venue designed to appeal to both residents and international visitors.
Bagatelle Malta is scheduled to open at St George’s Bay, St Julian’s, on Saturday 31 October 2026.
