St. Ermin’s Hotel has been named Large Hotel Team of the Year at the AA Hospitality Awards 2026.
The Westminster hotel received the award at the ceremony on 21 September, recognising its approach to employee development, wellbeing, engagement and workplace culture.
The accolade follows a year in which St. Ermin’s retained its four AA Red Stars and achieved 11th place in the UK Best Places to Work in Hospitality.
Douglas McHugh, General Manager at St. Ermin’s Hotel, said: “We are delighted to have been named AA Large Hotel Team of the Year, capping off a year in which we have retained our 4 AA Red Stars and achieved 11th place in the UK Best Places to Work in Hospitality.
“While awards are never the reason we do what we do, they are a wonderful recognition of the talented people who work tirelessly every day to deliver exceptional hospitality. It gives me immense pride to see their dedication acknowledged beyond our hotel.

The hotel’s people development strategy includes Make Me a Manager, an internal leadership programme designed to strengthen management capability and create opportunities for career progression.
Its Learning Bursary provides financial support for employees to pursue personal interests and development opportunities beyond the workplace.
St. Ermin’s has also introduced Youda, an AI-powered internal platform giving employees access to company policies and benefits while providing a central hub for company news, ideas and collaboration.
The hotel’s In Your Shoes programme enables employees to gain experience and understanding of roles across different departments, while monthly initiatives focus on physical, mental and social wellbeing.
St. Ermin’s said its continued investment in employees is intended to help attract, develop and retain talent while supporting professional and personal growth.
The hotel also received recognition in TripAdvisor’s 2025 Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best awards, ranking No.1 in the UK, No.2 in Europe and No.6 globally.
