Independent Irish pub group Nancy Spains is to open its flagship Covent Garden venue in early December as it continues its expansion across the UK.
Located at 1 Upper St Martin’s Lane, the pub will become the group’s largest opening to date and follows existing locations in Shoreditch, Monument and Manchester.
A new Nancy Spains will open in Bristol in November ahead of the Covent Garden launch, with further UK locations planned for 2027.
Founded by County Kerry brothers Peter and Nicky O’Halloran, Nancy Spains has developed its concept around Irish pub hospitality, live music, late-night trading and community-focused venues.
Each site incorporates materials and items salvaged from Ireland, an approach that will also be used at the new Covent Garden flagship.
The venue will include a separate chemist shop-inspired space designed to accommodate private group bookings.
The opening is expected to create 20 jobs.
Murphy’s Irish Stout, for which Nancy Spains is an exclusive UK flagship venue partner, will be the featured drinks partner at the Covent Garden pub.

Further details of the opening programme and recruitment opportunities are expected to be announced ahead of the December launch.
