AmaWaterways has partnered with chef Theo Randall for a special Romantic Danube sailing aboard AmaLea from 17 to 24 July 2027.

Randall will host two Chef’s Table dining experiences during the seven-night itinerary, creating a bespoke menu influenced by the destinations visited along the Danube.
The sailing will travel between Vilshofen and Budapest, with stops including Passau, Linz, Weissenkirchen, Vienna and Bratislava.
Locally sourced ingredients will form part of the Chef’s Table menus, with Randall introducing the dishes and discussing the people, places and culinary influences behind them.
He will also host an onboard Q&A during the sailing.
Toni Stoeckl, Chief Creative and Marketing Officer at AmaWaterways, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be working with Theo, who brings with him an outstanding reputation for delivering luxury fine-dining at the highest level.
“Dining is such an integral element to our travels and provides a true immersion that brings us closer to the heart of the people and places we encounter. Our river cruises are built upon the joys of exploration and authentic encounters with the towns, cities and villages we visit.
“Having Theo on board to tell the stories of these destinations and take guests on a culinary journey will bring our guests even closer to the people, culture and traditions that make these places so special.”
Randall joined The River Café in 1989 and later spent 15 years as Head Chef, during which the restaurant received its first MICHELIN Star in 1997. He opened Theo Randall at the InterContinental London Park Lane in 2006.
Randall said: “There’s a special bond that links food and river cruising. As a river winds through historic towns and vibrant cities, every stop reveals a new story, much like every dish brings to life the stories of the people, places, and passions behind them.
“The best meals don’t just feed us, they bring us closer to where we are. Following the course of a river is like turning the pages of a living story, where every destination, every flavour, and every encounter are at the heart of the journey’s that move us.”
Guests on the Romantic Danube itinerary will also be able to choose from shore excursions including walking and cycling tours and visits to historic and UNESCO-listed sites.
The Theo Randall sailing is now on sale.
