Point A Hotels Opens Second Edinburgh Property at St Andrew Square

August 10, 2026

Point A Hotels has opened its second Edinburgh property at St Andrew Square, taking the brand’s portfolio to 12 hotels across the UK and Ireland.

The new hotel is located at 9–10 St Andrew Square in Edinburgh city centre, approximately 0.4km from Edinburgh Waverley Station.

Its location provides access to both the Old and New Towns, Princes Street and a range of the city’s principal cultural and visitor attractions.

The property joins Point A Edinburgh Haymarket, giving the brand two locations in the Scottish capital.

Point A’s wider Scottish portfolio also includes its Glasgow hotel, while the group operates properties across London and Dublin.

To support the St Andrew Square opening, Point A has launched a limited promotional campaign for members of its A List loyalty programme.

Over a 10-day period, the company will release 100 rooms each day at £100 per night.

The promotional rate will be available for stays until 31 December 2026, with a new allocation released daily during the campaign.

Point A said the initiative is intended to encourage direct bookings and build engagement with its loyalty programme during the hotel’s opening period.

A List is free to join and provides members with discounted direct booking rates and complimentary breakfast.

Members can currently receive 10% off direct bookings across the Point A portfolio.

The new Edinburgh property offers continental breakfast alongside a café and bar, lounge and work areas and 24-hour snacks and drinks.

Guestroom facilities include air conditioning, smart televisions, Chromecast, Wi-Fi, in-room safes and mood lighting.

The opening comes during Edinburgh’s peak summer visitor period, with the city hosting the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo alongside its wider programme of cultural events.

Point A’s St Andrew Square location places guests within walking distance of several major Fringe venues, including the Assembly Rooms, as well as the Royal Mile and Princes Street.

The hotel forms part of Point A Hotels’ strategy of operating affordable accommodation in centrally located urban destinations across the UK and Ireland.

Its existing portfolio includes six London hotels alongside properties in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dublin.
