Wilde Arrives in Porto and Amsterdam

July 11, 2026

Boutique lifestyle aparthotel brand Wilde is continuing its European expansion with openings in Porto and Amsterdam.

Wilde Porto

Following openings earlier this year in Vienna and Lisbon, the launches bring Wilde’s city-based sanctuaries to more of Europe’s creative and culturally rooted neighbourhoods.

As travel preferences evolve, lifestyle aparthotels are increasingly appealing to modern travellers looking for the service and design of a boutique hotel combined with the freedom and flexibility of home.

Wilde caters to guests visiting for a few nights, a few weeks or longer stays, pairing warm Irish hospitality with thoughtfully furnished apartments designed for different styles of travel.

Apartments feature fully equipped kitchens with high-end appliances including Nespresso coffee machines and Smeg kettles, alongside smart climate control, rainfall showers and Hypnos mattresses.

For families, cots, high chairs and other home-away-from-home essentials can be provided on request.

Each property is shaped by its neighbourhood and brought to life through collaborations with local artists and ceramicists to showcase regional craftsmanship.

This community spirit is also reflected in Oscar’s, Wilde’s food and beverage concept designed to bring guests and locals together, as well as in each in-house shop, where local suppliers and traditional flavours are given prominence.

Wilde Porto, Clérigos will open on 10 July, marking Wilde’s second property in Portugal.

Located between Rua da Galeria de Paris and Praça Guilherme Gomes Fernandes, and close to the tile-fronted baroque church Igreja do Carmo, the property sits within a stretch of elegant townhouses.

Wilde Porto features 78 contemporary studios and apartments, with options for two, three or four guests in the heart of the city’s dining, music and nightlife district.

Situated on the north-western coast of Portugal on the banks of the River Douro, Porto is the country’s second largest city and has become a sought-after destination for modern travellers, digital nomads and culture enthusiasts.

The city is known for its heritage, arts scene and status as the birthplace of Port wine.

Wilde Porto is located within a 30-minute drive of Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport and a seven-minute walk from São Bento Railway Station.

The property sits among historic façades housing cafés, bakeries and cocktail bars, close to independent boutiques, art galleries and museums.

Interior design by Stephanie Barba Mendoza, who previously spent a decade leading global projects at Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, bridges the gap between old and new.

The design honours Portuguese craftsmanship and Porto’s maritime history through a contemporary lens.

Hand-painted tiles and ceramics sit alongside bespoke furniture and lighting commissioned from local craftspeople.

Highlights include wall murals hand-painted across tiles by local makers New Terracotta in the café and bathrooms, a statement lacquer table with studded detailing, indoor-outdoor chairs from Casamidy, and bespoke wallpaper by British artist Anna Glover.

Wilde Porto’s food and beverage offer celebrates the flavours of northern Portugal through sharing plates and local favourites.

Oscar’s is positioned as a welcoming space, with tonal tiles and earthy marble counters, serving specialty coffee alongside pastéis de nata, the classic Prego steak sandwich and Porto wines by the glass.

Wilde has also partnered with Royale Pão Paixão, the neighbourhood bakery, to bring artisan breads and pastries into the guest experience.

The adjacent shop is stocked with locally sourced products and artisanal treats.

O’s Above is the property’s rooftop destination, where a red and white striped bar will serve seasonal cocktails, local wines and elevated bar snacks overlooking Porto’s historic skyline.

Menu highlights include The Porto Platter, showcasing regional specialities including octopus, salt cod and rojões, while the Sea Platter features oysters, prawns and octopus.

O’s Below will operate from morning to midnight as a street-level café and late-night bar, offering breakfast dishes and coffee during the day before shifting to cocktails, local beers and an evolving drinks list in the evening.

Guests at Wilde Porto can also expect a 24-hour reception, dog-friendly apartment options, laundry facilities and comfortable co-working spaces.

Wilde Amsterdam Noord will open on 30 September, overlooking the IJ River.

The property will offer 120 spacious, design-led studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments across eight floors within the new Yvie residential development.

It marks the first property in Wilde’s portfolio designed specifically as an extended-stay destination.

Available for bookings of seven nights or longer, Wilde Amsterdam has been created for guests relocating professionally, combining business with leisure, or looking to stay in the city for longer.

Once an industrial hub, Amsterdam Noord is now a creative district and residential neighbourhood.

Wilde Amsterdam is around 15 minutes from Amsterdam Centraal Station, or five minutes by ferry across the water, and 35 minutes from Schiphol Airport.

The neighbourhood is well suited to exploration by bike, with guests able to rent bicycles to discover local eateries, green spaces and cultural corners.

In Amsterdam, Stephanie Barba Mendoza’s interiors reflect the district’s creative energy and waterfront setting.

Leather, timber, marble lacquer and brass create warmth and depth, while custom-crafted furniture and joinery add character throughout.

Details include a large hand-painted mural and lampshades in the lobby by Dutch artist Lisette van Hoogenhuyze.

At the heart of Wilde Amsterdam, Oscar’s will operate from morning to night, serving coffee, martinis, shared tapas, local wines, craft beers and menus inspired by Amsterdam’s traditional dishes.

The terrace extends the experience outdoors, offering a riverside setting for morning coffee, lunch and evening cocktails.

Guests can also expect a 24-hour reception, fitness facilities, dog-friendly apartment options and co-working spaces for those balancing business and leisure.

The openings follow Wilde’s debuts in Lisbon and Vienna earlier this year and reinforce the brand’s focus on local culture, design-led hospitality and flexible apartment-style stays.

Kelly Morgan, Managing Director at Wilde, said: “Like all other Wilde locations across Europe, we selected Amsterdam and Porto as destinations with deeply rooted creative and cultural characters, perfectly mirroring the Wilde ethos.

“These openings allow us to continue our mission of delivering a home-away-from-home experience where the flexibility of apartment-style living is integrated with the elevated service and design-led aesthetic of a boutique hotel.

“We look forward to bringing guests to discover the vibrant neighbourhoods that we are now a part of.”
