NYX Hotels has opened its first Scottish location in the heart of Edinburgh.

Located on Jeffrey Street, moments from the Royal Mile and Waverley Station, NYX Hotel Edinburgh brings the brand’s urban style and city-centre energy to the Scottish capital.
Known for bold interiors and nightlife-inspired social spaces, NYX Hotels has an established presence in European cultural destinations including Berlin, Dublin, Ibiza and London.
The Edinburgh opening has created 60 new jobs and represents a £60m investment in the city.
The project expands the existing Leonardo Royal Hotel site, creating 125 rooms and a new destination bar and restaurant.
Simone Villari, Hotel Manager at NYX Hotel Edinburgh, said: “Edinburgh has always thrived on art, music and culture.
“With NYX Hotel Edinburgh, our ambition is to capture that spirit and create a hotel that feels bold, vibrant, and uniquely Scottish.
“With the Edinburgh Fringe Festival just around the corner, this is a particularly exciting time to open.
“The city comes alive with creativity, culture and an electric atmosphere, attracting performers, artists and visitors from around the world.
“That energy is at the heart of the NYX brand, and we’re excited to become part of the experience and welcome guests looking to immerse themselves in everything Edinburgh has to offer.”
The hotel features the brand’s playful interiors and contemporary take on lifestyle hospitality.
Design details include bold prints, luxury finishes and distinctive touches throughout.
A key feature of the property is Clash Bar and Restaurant, which has been designed with industrial-chic interiors and patterned walls.
The venue will serve signature cocktails developed by mixologists alongside an all-day menu of dishes, tasting plates and visually led serves.

Clash Bar and Restaurant will also host weekly DJ sessions, featuring established and emerging Edinburgh artists, with the aim of keeping the atmosphere alive into the night.
The hotel’s social spaces extend into its 125 rooms and suites, which have been designed to combine modern aesthetics with Scottish personality.
Rooms include DREAM beds, mood-setting lighting and Nespresso machines, providing space for guests to unwind after exploring the city or experiencing Edinburgh’s nightlife.
Jason Carruthers, Managing Director at Leonardo Hotels UK & Ireland, said: “The opening of NYX Hotel Edinburgh marks an important milestone for us as our fifth hotel in the city and our first NYX Hotel in Scotland.
“This has been a complex and ambitious project, transforming and expanding an existing site to create something truly special in one of the world’s most exciting cities.
“Thank you to everyone who has played a role in bringing this vision to life, particularly Simone, our Cluster General Manager Claire McLoughlin, and the entire NYX Hotel Edinburgh team, as well as Ciaran Lavery and his Design & Construction team.
“Their passion and dedication have created a hotel that truly embodies the spirit of the NYX Hotels brand, and we’re excited to welcome guests to experience it for themselves.”
The opening follows the launch of a new brand campaign for NYX Hotels.
The campaign has been designed to refresh the brand’s visual image and create a unified identity built around the ethos of bringing the city’s creative energy to life.
Launched earlier this summer, the campaign brings the growing UK and Ireland portfolio together under one creative vision while celebrating the character of each destination.
The portfolio currently includes NYX Hotel London Holborn, NYX Hotel Dublin Portobello, NYX Hotel Dublin Christchurch and NYX Hotel Edinburgh.
The brand refresh introduces updated visuals, including a new logo and colour palette, bold typography, new lifestyle photography by Charlie McKay and a brand video produced by London-based creative studio Detail Films.
