Cup of Joy, the Istanbul-founded speciality coffee and bakery brand, is set to open its first UK location in Marylebone this July.

The opening marks the brand’s first international expansion and introduces its coffee, bakery and all-day dining concept to London after more than a decade of growth in Turkey.
Founded in Istanbul’s Bebek district in 2013, Cup of Joy was among the early businesses to help shape the city’s modern speciality coffee movement. The company now operates eight locations across Turkey and has built its reputation around speciality coffee, house-made food and community-focused hospitality.
The Marylebone café will feature a seasonal menu influenced by Eastern Mediterranean flavours and ingredients sourced from suppliers including Natoora and Marylebone Farmers Market.
Breakfast dishes will include Aegean Morning, featuring a sesame bagel with matured feta, heirloom tomatoes, olives, fresh thyme and pistou, alongside Turkish Eggs served with sourdough flatbreads and Aleppo pepper butter. Other menu items include Pistachio Porridge, toasties, tartines, savoury scones and seasonal salads.
The café will also offer a selection of pastries and desserts, including Baba Au Tea, a contemporary interpretation of the traditional baba dessert, as well as a range of refined sugar-free raw bars made from whole ingredients.
Coffee remains central to the concept, with the company’s signature blend combining Arabica beans sourced from El Salvador, Brazil and Colombia. The blend features tasting notes of dark chocolate, orange and hazelnut, while a rotating selection of coffees from other origins will also be available.
The café interior has been designed by Benni Allan of EBBA Architects, who drew inspiration from multiple visits to Istanbul to better understand the city’s café culture and Cup of Joy’s heritage. The design aims to combine influences from both Istanbul and London, creating a space that reflects the character of both cities.
Handmade ceramics created by Cup of Joy co-founder and ceramicist Gökçe Kalyoncu will also feature throughout the café.
The Marylebone opening represents the next stage in Cup of Joy’s development as the brand introduces its speciality coffee and hospitality offering to an international audience.
