Ruby Opens First Scandinavian Hotel with Stockholm Debut

June 17, 2026

Ruby has opened its first hotel in Scandinavia with the launch of Ruby Frida in Stockholm.

Ruby Frida

The 187-room property marks the brand’s debut in Sweden and adds to Ruby’s growing international portfolio. Located in the Kungsholmen district near Fridhemsplan, the hotel occupies a redeveloped 1960s landmark building that has been transformed into a mixed-use destination featuring hospitality, office, retail and restaurant spaces.

Ruby Frida has been designed to reflect Stockholm’s music heritage and cultural identity, drawing inspiration from the city’s creative scene and the influence of the 1960s. The hotel incorporates Ruby’s signature approach to hospitality, combining design-focused interiors with technology-led guest experiences.

Facilities include social spaces, a 24-hour bar serving cocktails and barista coffee, and guest rooms equipped with Marshall amplifiers and Bluetooth speakers. Music is integrated throughout the hotel through curated playlists and live performances.

The hotel is situated approximately 10 minutes from Stockholm Central Station by public transport and around 40 minutes from Stockholm Arlanda Airport via direct coach services. Guests also have easy access to Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s waterfront areas, parks and cultural attractions.

Commenting on the opening, Michael Struck, CEO and Founder of Ruby Group, said: “Ruby Frida is closely connected to Stockholm’s creative spirit, with a design and atmosphere shaped by the city’s music heritage. It’s crafted to feel authentic to the city and easy to enjoy – a place that feels open, social and full of character, where guests and locals can come together and experience a place with real personality.”

Lauren Krostue, Vice President, Global Brand Management at Ruby, added: “At Ruby, every hotel starts with the city. With Ruby Frida, Stockholm’s creative rhythm has artfully been translated into design, where every detail draws from the city’s music heritage and cultural energy, while Ruby’s signature elements keep the experience characterful and unmistakably Ruby around the world.”

The opening reflects Ruby’s continued focus on expanding its presence in major European cities, targeting travellers seeking centrally located, design-led accommodation with a strong local identity.
