A sensational collaboration has been announced for the afternoon tea service at Corinthia London in the Crystal Moon Lounge during the month of May (from 2 May-29 May 2024).
Whitney Bromberg Hawkings, founder and CEO of FLOWERBX, and Corinthia London’s executive pastry chef Yago Doamo have paired their creative skills to enhance the luxury experience of afternoon tea at the hotel. They have devised a selection of strikingly beautiful desserts that will not only mark the Chelsea Flower Show but also celebrate the approach to the summer social season.
Several distinctive and delicious desserts have been inspired by Whitney and the stunning flower range at the FLOWERBX in-house shop at Corinthia London. The visual impact of each dessert with individual floral motifs will be matched by fine luxury and seasonal spring-into-summer ingredients, such as strawberries and blueberries, lavender and lemon, chocolate and salted caramel.
The new floral inspired desserts are:
The Tulip – Salted Caramel & Milk Chocolate Tart
The Anemone – Blueberry & Violet Cheesecake
The Rose – Strawberry & Mascarpone Choux
The Dahlia – Yuzu Gâteau
Passionfruit Cake
Lemon & Lavender Madeleines
The FLOWERBX Afternoon Tea is £85 per person (or £100 with a glass of Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée Brut Champagne). Corinthia London will donate £10 from each tea during this period to their favoured charity – Spread a Smile, which supports seriously ill and hospitalised children and their families.
Also included in the afternoon tea service is a selection of finger sandwiches, plain and sultana scones with jams and clotted cream. and an extensive choice of more than 25 tea blends, from traditional and Corinthia bespoke teas, to green tea, herbal infusions, and sparkling tea (by the bottle).
Thomas Kochs, Managing Director of Corinthia London, enthused about the partnership with FLOWERBX, stating: “This is a perfect collaboration – the chic floral style impeccable taste from Whitney and FLOWERBX added to Yago’s pastry skills and creativity will translate into the ideal tribute to the Chelsea Flower Show and the spring season in bloom.”
And Whitney Bromberg Hawkings also commented on the creative alliance: “I was so happy to work with Yago to create this ultimate floral tea in celebration of the biggest floral moment in the year – the Chelsea Flower Show. We took inspiration from the season’s most vibrant blooms, and Yago has translated them into glorious little floral explosions.”
To further mark the season’s floral theme at Corinthia London, FLOWERBX have created dazzling large paper flowers to adorn the Crystal Moon Lounge and the Foyer of the hotel. This impressive floral installation will feature delicate colourful paper flowers, and there will also be a large floral tree in the Foyer adorned with the striking individual flowers which can be purchased to take away, with the proceeds donated to the Spread a Smile charity.
