By Angela Green: The Silver Birch add Junior Sommelier to front of house team.
West London’s The Silver Birch restaurant has announced the addition of Sam Roberts to their team as a Junior Sommelier. Roberts, with his profound passion for wine, honed from his upbringing in France and experience in his family’s catering and events business, brings a unique blend of traditional expertise and innovative vision to The Silver Birch.
Roberts’ journey in the world of wines began in the picturesque vineyards of France where he grew up. Immersed in a culture that celebrates wine as a cornerstone of gastronomy, his fascination with oenology was inevitable. His family’s involvement in catering and events further nurtured his love for wine, offering him early insights into the intricate relationship between food and wine.
Having been mentored by Tanguy Martin of Roberson Wine, the former UK Sommelier of the Year, Roberts is itching to curate an exceptional wine list at the restaurant. His training under Martin’s guidance has prepared him to navigate the diverse world of wines with an expert palate and a discerning eye for quality.
“We are delighted to welcome Sam Roberts to our team,” said Owner Tim Price. “Despite being early in his career, Sam’s passion for wine and his burgeoning expertise make him a Junior Sommelier to watch. We’re excited about the fresh perspective and innovative ideas he brings to The Silver Birch.”
Roberts’ appointment is a testament to The Silver Birch’s commitment to providing a top-tier gastronomic experience. His appointment is poised to enhance the dining experience at The Silver Birch, making it a must-visit destination for wine lovers and food enthusiasts alike.
