H&C News recently approached some friends across our industry for donations to our annual golf day prize draw and auction, which helps raise awareness of and funds for two organisations that aid the industry’s efforts in recruitment and retention. Namely, Zest Quest Asia and The CRUMBS Project.
Zest Quest Asia founded in 2013 by Cyrus and Pervin Todiwala builds knowledge of and experience in classical Asian cookery in UK college curricula. Through annual competitions young trainee chefs hone their skills.
The CRUMBS Project is a charitable foundation dedicated to supporting disadvantaged adults by providing hospitality and catering learning and development programmes which enable them to develop a wide range of professional and life skills, increase their confidence and self-esteem and to prepare for employment and independent living.
One of the people we asked was Peter Avis, General Manager, Galvin at Windows. The acclaimed modern French restaurant providing diners with haute cuisine and hand-picked wines from the 28th floor of the London Hilton on Park Lane with unique views over Hyde Park and the surrounding London landscape.
Peter’s reply was immediate and generous, an afternoon tea experience for two at Park Corner Brasserie.
Park Corner Brasserie is a new Modern-British neighbourhood restaurant, on the edge of Mayfair overlooking Hyde Park, serving the finest seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers and suppliers who share their values fusing nature’s bounty with the timeless elegance of Park Lane.
So, following a day of golf at The Belfry and a sumptuous dinner, the prize draw/auction will take place seeing one of the guests leave with an afternoon tea experience for two at Park Corner Brasserie.
Both The Crumbs Project and Zest Quest Asia make a huge difference to the young people they work with, and both make a positive contribution to the culture of our industry. The H&C News team would like to say “thank you” to Peter and the team at Galvin at Windows for their help in enabling both organisations do even more.
