H&C News has announced a trio of partners for this year’s Golf Day taking place at The Belfry Hotel & Resort on Thursday 7th September 2023.
This year’s event, which is now open for bookings is the result of a partnership between H&C News and Meiko UK to raise funds to further support the work done by Zest Quest Asia, and The CRUMBS Project.
Event partner Meiko UK has attended every H&C News Golf Day since 2018. Meiko UK Managing Director Paul Anderson DFS, FIH, MCGC told us why: “The combination of a day of golf at one of the worlds best golf resorts, dinner delivered by the Chef Brigade at The Belfry under the stewardship of Executive Chef Robert Bates, alongside raising funds for two organisations that deliver education and training that helps young people enter into and develop a career in hospitality is one I and the team at Meiko UK are all too happy to support.”
Zest Quest Asia was founded in 2013 by Cyrus and Pervin Todiwala to build knowledge of and experience in classical Asian cookery in UK college curricula.
Cyrus Todiwala OBE said of the day: “There has never been a more important time to support young people through their careers in hospitality and catering. Zest Quest Asia supports young people through their culinary education by enabling real life gastronomic experiences. By doing so more young people are better prepared to enter their hospitality careers. It was a great day last year and I am looking forward to another, see you in September.”
The CRUMBS Project is a charitable foundation dedicated to supporting disadvantaged adults by providing hospitality and catering learning and development programmes which enable them to develop a wide range of professional and life skills, increase their confidence and self-esteem and to prepare for employment and independent living.
Chair of The CRUMBS Project, Professor Peter Jones MBE told us: “I was delighted when H&C News invited two of our trainees, our head of centre and I to experience the day. And even more pleased when I learned some of the funds raised on the day will be going to support the work of CRUMBS.
“The trainees are very excited and looking forward to taking in what over the years has developed into a very special day for our industry. I have seen the videos of previous events and know many of the people that attend, so I am looking forward to catching up with those I do know and making the acquaintance of those I don’t on the day.”
Some of the highlights from last year’s event can be seen in the video below, thank you Piers and Cyrus.
