As temperatures across Southern Europe soar and as a consequence millions of lives are impacted, the business benefits from operating sustainable businesses are not just bottom line benefits, but also the widespread benefits gained through operating robust environmental, social and governance policies.
The images we are seeing currently demonstrate the work already being done by so many in hospitality is positive to counter environmental volatility, this work needs to be increased and improved, and followed by everyone.
Environmental Impact: The hospitality industry has a considerable environmental footprint due to its energy consumption, water usage, waste generation, and carbon emissions. Embracing sustainability practices helps reduce these impacts through measures such as energy-efficient buildings, water conservation, waste reduction and recycling, and adopting renewable energy sources.
