Once again, TWO Services enjoyed catching up with industry friends old and new at the much-anticipated Institute of Hospitality Golf Day at The Belfry on 9th May.

TWO’s National Sales Director Oliver Smith and Sales Executive Kay Wiskin joined forces with two business associates to take part in the 2024 fundraising event, which this year managed to raise a remarkable £4,700 for the Institute of Hospitality’s Youth Council, thanks in part to its after-dinner charity auction.
As one of the day’s sponsors, TWO Services provided two fully valeted golf buggies for all four-ball teams, plus branded golf balls and a much-needed hot drink and sausage roll for participants at the halfway house nearby the 10th hole.
Though the TWO Services team has been attending and sponsoring the Golf Day for many years, it was Kay’s first time at The Belfry. As a relatively new golfer who has only been playing for around a year, she found the most challenging part of the Derby course to be the rough – in her own words, “[she’s] in the rough a lot, but this time around, it was like cabbage… not enjoyable!”
However, despite being relatively inexperienced, Kay was surprised by how much she enjoyed the event. She said: “I was very nervous leading up to it and felt quite overwhelmed. As a female golfer in a very male dominated sport, I put a lot of pressure on myself, but I was warmly welcomed and quickly made to feel at ease. It was also great to see everyone from different companies across the industry come together and have a really enjoyable day.
“There were other women golfing and others who joined later for dinner, so I would say to all women in our industry… if you’re thinking of booking onto a team next year, do it! I already want to go again. The Belfry is an absolutely stunning venue, and if you have the chance to play there, take it.”
Our roving reporter on the day, Piers Zangana, took a few minutes to catch up with Kay to see what she made of the day, the interview is below on the video clip.
Oliver added: “Congratulations to everyone who was involved with this year’s event. It was a roaring success for all involved, and we are proud to have helped raise such vital funds for a great cause. We’d like to extend special thanks to the following sponsors, without whom the event wouldn’t be possible: headline partners Meiko UK, service sponsor Softbank Robotics, nearest-the-pin sponsor BB Merchant Services, and longest drive sponsor Housekeeping Today.
“Roll on next year!”
