Port Gaverne on the north coast of Cornwall has announced the appointment of Danny Young as its new Head Chef, coinciding with the venue’s recent re-invention.
With over a decade of experience working in top-flight kitchens, including his previous role as Head Chef at Northcote Manor, Young brings his talent and passion for gastronomy to this 17th-century pub.
Having embarked on his culinary journey at 16, Young honed his skills and creativity during his impressive tenure at Northcote Manor from 2010 to 2022. His dedication and ingenuity were recognised in 2018 when he was crowned the Young National Chef of the Year. With a remarkable track record, Young has earned a well-deserved reputation for his culinary expertise and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Port Gaverne is a locally run beachside pub with rooms that embraces the true essence of coastal living. Situated in an idyllic location with gorgeous views over the peaceful cove below, the pub has recently undergone an extensive transformation both in its restaurant and bedrooms. The recent upgrades have breathed new life into Port Gaverne, and pairs traditional features, like a slate bar and wooden beams, with an authentic and welcoming atmosphere.
