GV Group (Gate Ventures) has today announced that it has invested in ROUT’D Technology, a company providing new last-mile logistics & delivery management software for the UK hospitality sector.
ROUT’D, which launches formally in the sector this month, acts as an all-in-one logistics platform which helps clients deliver efficient, cost-effective, and seamless services.
The system provides proof of delivery process that is auditable, trackable and ensures health, safety and legal verification measures are adhered to.
The platform gives clients across the business and industry, retail, education, healthcare, restaurants and wholesale sectors complete traceability of product by allowing clients back-end staff and drivers the ability to interact with & monitor the performance of drivers and deliveries anytime.
Founded in 2018 as a London based tech start up, ROUT’D initially developed software for last mile food retailers. In 2019, the business evolved to develop its own independent all-in-one solution after identifying a lack of logistics tech innovation and data driven software within the food and hospitality sector.
The GV Group investment will enable ROUT’D to further offer a bespoke industry focussed product, utilising the company’s 20-year commercial and operational expertise.
The app comprises of a range of features including route update (live ETA), dispatch and job assignment, ETA predictor & journey email notifications (for customer) and route optimisation (static and dynamic).
It also offers proof of delivery functionality which includes digital image capture, temperature verification, and digital signatures.
The platform’s routing algorithm can automatically optimise the driver’s daily routes to save business time, fuel and vehicle costs.
Through GV Group’s Foodmove and Platebox subsidiaries, ROUT’D works with numerous multi-site clients including Compass Group, Booker, Benugo, Makro and other retailers and caterers.
The customer-driven platform can also manage customer satisfaction through a customer feedback link to rate drivers on professionalism, customer service and completed orders.
As part of the investment, GV Group plans to develop further logistics-based technology in the future.
Tevin Tobun, CEO, GV Group, said: “We are delighted to have invested in ROUT’D, especially during a period where businesses are looking for innovative solutions to tackle the rapidly changing foodservice sector.
“ROUT’D will offer a nimble delivery platform which will help businesses plan and forecast more accurately.
“It is important for all businesses to have the ability to be flexible and agile which is essential in the current climate.”
