Demonstrations of gratitude are worth more to most people than almost anything else, and the most effective business leaders understand this, it is part of why they are successful.
All endeavour requires a team to work cohesively towards a shared common goal, to have any chance of realising it. All members of that team also need to place the goal ahead of their own role in its attainment, understanding every input as vital.
For many business leaders the challenge here is in overcoming a temptation to bask in the glory of attainment, letting ego preside. Business leaders who are serial attainers step back from that temptation and avoid ego denying them the privilege of continuing to lead effective teams. The gratitude returned in kind being of far more value than profile.
What has all this got to do with Kitchen Porters?
Kitchen porters work in the background of every hospitality business ensuring service is delivered. No kitchen porter, no service.
Their contribution to the overall hospitality experience is vital.
In every hospitality business there is a hierarchy of roles, led by a conductor who directs the orchestra ensuring the right tone is reached throughout each performance.
We are looking for hospitality conductors to nominate a kitchen porter to lead a four ball golf team at The Belfry in June, with their team buggy on the day being driven by Cyrus Todiwala OBE.
The experience of playing golf at The Belfry is unique, being the only golf venue in the world to have hosted four Ryder Cup competitions. Competitions that see the best golfers in the world compete for the most cherished ‘team’ trophy in the history of golf.
