Meiko UK have always been champions of Kitchen Porters by manufacturing the warewashers KP’s like to use most. Also, through running The Kitchen Porters Club, the twitter page dedicated to KP’s.
The Kitchen Porters Club highlights jobs for Kitchen Porters across the UK, alongside news and just about anything related to KP’ing, as well as some fun stuff too.
Meiko UK and The Kitchen Porters Club are now looking for a KP who loves to play golf to join them at The Clink Charity Hospitality Golf Day 2021, in association with Meiko UK.
The day takes place at The Belfry, the golf resort that uniquely in the world of golf, is the only venue to have hosted four Ryder Cups.
The day will see teams from across hospitality gather and play out a day of golf, before a sumptuous dinner in the evening. All teams during dinner are awarded a framed certificate to commemorate their taking part, and an auction takes place during dinner that raises thousands of pounds for The Clink Charity.
One Kitchen Porter will lead her/his team of four players to take part in the day courtesy of Meiko UK.
Cyrus Todiwala OBE DLThe winning KP team will also have their own celebrity golf buggy driver for the day, Cyrus Todiwala OBE.
Paul Anderson, Managing Director, Meiko UK set out his reasoning for creating the opportunity: “To quote a good friend of Meiko UK, restaurateur and chef John Campbell, ‘kitchen porters are the most important people in my business’. I wholeheartedly agree with John, and I know most chefs do too.
“Meiko UK recognise kitchen porters in many ways, a few years ago we set up The KP Hero Award that gave employers the opportunity to acknowledge KP’s that work within their business. It was a huge success and saw household name brands in hospitality recognise the work done by their KP colleagues in the kitchen.
“This year has been hard for many, and KP’s like everyone else are doubtless keen to get back to work in hospitality, and out enjoying some hospitality too.
Paul Anderson, Managing Director, Meiko UK“So, we came up with the idea to similarly to The KP Hero Awards, ask employers to simply tell us why their Kitchen Porter deserves a day out playing golf at one of the finest golf resorts in the world. The Belfry.
“We will select a winner by accessing the entries we receive through the entry form below.
“Cyrus Todiwala will be the winner’s golf buggy driver for the day, which will make the day even more special.
“The dinner at The Belfry in 2019 was exquisite, and we have no doubt it will be again in 2021. The Belfry have their own KP’s, so we guarantee it won’t end up a busman’s holiday.
“I look forward to welcoming the KP who wins, and their three colleagues to what is always a very special day out.”
To enter the competition please use the form below, and in no more than 100 words tell us why your KP deserves such a day out.
