Cold brew masters and founders of SOLO Coffee, Alex Foss Sims and Theo Garcia, have launched a new Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate to replace the espresso typically used in an Espresso Martini.
A UK first and a game changer for the hospitality industry, Alex and Theo were on a mission to tackle every bartender’s nightmare when making the popular classic.
As every bartender knows, you need espresso to make the crema in an Espresso Martini. The hospitality industry still opts for brewing hot espresso and cooling it down in the shaker, resulting in a loss of flavour.
Not satisfied with the existing cold brew concentrates on the market, Alex and Theo spent months experimenting to launch a cold brew concentrate that offers the mouthfeel of an espresso full of distinctive flavour.
SOLO – Proud to introduce their Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate to the market
Where other concentrates have used artificial thickeners to create the crema, the duo have instead applied new techniques and technology to create a smooth and foamy finish that is crucial to perfecting the Espresso Martini.
The new Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate is packaged in a 1L Tetra Pak with 20 x 50ml servings. It’s a long life, ambient stable product for any back bar and speeds up service time, relieving bartenders from preparing the espressos pre-shift and reducing wastage. As well as this, substituting standard espresso with the new concentrate from SOLO means saying goodbye to diluted, flat cocktails and hello to strong flavour.
Theo comments: “Alex and I decided to use our expertise to solve a growing issue in the hospitality industry and we’re really excited to now be offering a solution. We wouldn’t sell a concentrate unless we were truly proud of it and we look forward to making bartenders’ jobs a lot easier”.
Alex and Theo have been on the cold brew scene since the beginning when it was only a niche market, and with Alex’s previous experience in the wine industry and obsession with all things drink related, coupled with Theo’s win at the national Aeropress championships, they truly know the industry inside out.
Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate is available to order for pre-sale from from 1st October priced at £9.95 which equates to 49p for a double shot serving!
