Launching January 2019, The Oak SW11 will be the fourth restaurant and bar in a small, but perfectly formed group. The new Battersea opening will follow in the footsteps of hugely popular flagship, The Oak W2 on Westbourne Park Road in Notting Hill. Restaurateur Jasper Gorst and his team are delighted to announce their expansion south of the river, occupying the space that was previously Butcher & Grill at 39 Parkgate Road.
Set to the backdrop of neighbouring Battersea Park, The Oak SW11 will serve the signature pizzas for which the group is well known, alongside an Italian and Mediterranean menu. A selection of small plates; curated by executive chef Nuno Franco, will range from Padron Peppers, and Polenta Chips with Gorgonzola Fonduta, to Rolled Lamb Breast on Ajo with Roasted Cumin, Baby Carrots, and Mint, and Grilled Octopus with Romero Peppers, Black Olives, Golden Raisins and Sherry Vinegar. Desserts will include a Polenta Cake, with Lemon Curd, Blood Orange Sorbet and Spiced Black Olive Syrup; and Italian favourite Amaretti-Marsala Tiramisu.
Alongside the food will be a carefully chosen wine list, featuring bottles across Europe, ranging from reds, whites and champagne, with a heavy emphasis on wines from France and Italy. A stripped back cocktail menu will be on offer in the bar, featuring classics ranging from a Negroni to classic Martinis.
Early risers will be treated to The Oak’s first ever breakfast menu, ranging from Pancakes with Crispy Pancetta and Maple Syrup, to a Full Tuscan (Tuscan Parmesan Sausage, Pancetta, Burrata, Poached Egg, Roasted Daterinos, Basil & Sourdough), along with freshly brewed Italian coffee.
With an overall capacity for 120, the casual dining space is made up of a ground floor dining room and counter bar that will accommodate walk ins, a more relaxed lounge area perfect for breakfast and long brunches, and a mezzanine level dining room where reservations will be available. Design is overseen by Jasper, incorporating characterful 3-D tiles, banquette seating, artwork by prominent local artists and a statement long table, available for bookings up to 16.
Located at Parkgate Road, the new site will be a stone-throw away from Battersea park, and joins the likes of local favourites the Nutbourne and The Latchmere. The Oak SW11 will be open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 8am – midnight. It will be the fourth site from Jasper Gorst, alongside sister sites The Oak W2 in Notting Hill (2001), The Bird in Hand in Brook Green (2011) and The Oak W12 in Goldhawk Road (2013).
