The Eden Hotel Collection is delighted to announce that Martin Kelly has been appointed General Manager of Bovey Castle, the exclusive five-red-star hotel and country estate located in Dartmoor National Park, Devon.
Kelly has previously held long-standing General Manager positions at the Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa and L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa in Jersey, alongside other hotel management roles at properties in Brighton, Birmingham and Glasgow. Kelly will take over the GM position from Bovey Castle’s former Resort Director, Greg Fehler.
Says Mark Chambers, Managing Director, Eden Hotel Collection: “Martin brings a wealth of experience to his pivotal new role as General Manager of Bovey Castle. The hotel continues to go from strength to strength and we are looking forward to Martin further shaping the hotel’s future development and success.”
Since the Eden Hotel Collection acquired Bovey Castle back in 2014, the hotel has won numerous awards, the most notable of which is five red AA stars in 2017 for its exceptional hospitality – the AA’s highest possible accolade.
Set in 275 acres of countryside on Dartmoor National Park, the flagship Eden Hotel Collection property has 60 bedrooms, 22 lodges, an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis courts and an Elan Spa – complete with Art Deco swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, treatment rooms and a dedicated Gentlemen’s Quarter.
On-site experiences include falconry, cider and sloe gin-making and 4×4 off-road driving. Earlier this year the hotel opened its new Deer Park within the estate.
The hotel’s Great Western restaurant – the proud recipient of 3 AA Rosettes for its culinary excellence – is overseen by talented Head Chef Mark Budd, who also manages the hotel’s casual dining option, Smith’s Brasserie.
