An exciting new restaurant concept, School For Scandal has announced it will open on First Street on 20th August 2018.
Situated at the site of The Laundrette, School For Scandal is a new neighbourhood Brasserie the perfect location for everyday dining.
Created by Danny Fox, formerly Living Ventures, School For Scandal is a modern contemporary stylish city-centre eatery, providing a home away from home with quality food and drink.
The 100 cover restaurant will offer indoor and outdoor dining, with a stylish terrace for alfresco dining during the summer months and sociable dining booths inside.
Based on the scandal of love, the walls are adorned with tattoo imagery, whilst the decor evokes a sense of Manhattan cool alongside hints of traditional British interiors with wood panelling finishings reminiscent of an English boarding school.
The tempting food menu sees flavours from all over the world to satisfy all cravings, providing an abundance of healthy options, alongside some naughty home comforts. From mouth-watering, hearty tacos, burgers and steaks off the charcoal grill, pizzas fresh out the oven, to refreshing salads and small plates. There are also a vast array of gluten, dairy and meat free options, providing something for everyone, all packed full of flavour and goodness.
For desert, be transported back to your childhood whilst you feast on a knickerbocker glory or a chocolate fondue served with marshmallows and strawberries. As well as classic deserts to die for, indulge in one of their signature delicious crullers, a delicious pastry treat topped with powdered sugar or icing, which are made fresh daily.
The drinks offering sees an extensive list of cocktails, beers and spirits. Cocktail highlights include the Wet Lunch Selection – cocktails inspired by classic films including American Pie, Pretty in Pink and Breakfast Club. Or for those post-work pick-ups, experience a new type of detention with 10 classic cocktails including cosmopolitan, espresso martini and Aperol spritz available for £5 each every weekday from 5pm – 7pm.
Those looking to risk their luck can tackle the Wheel of Fortune, a sharing cocktail for four or more. Spin the wheel and you can receive the cocktail for free, end up paying double or the original price, the risk is there to take.
Sunday sessions at School for Scandal will provide a comforting Sunday roast alongside the finest live entertainment, the perfect weekend escape.
Speaking on opening, Danny Fox said: “Every neighbourhood needs a school to enrol in, and this is ours. This concept is fun and mischievous, we really wanted to create somewhere cool but fun where you can enjoy quality food and drink and just be sociable. It’s a great place for people to gather, no matter what the occasion. Our food dishes are smashed full of flavour, goodness and shine alongside the naughty home comforts we all love. We’ve got some exciting new cocktails, as well as the classics on the menu to enjoy, especially in ‘Detention’! But my aim is to also give an amazing product at an affordable price as the high street is a pretty crazy place right now. We’re excited to open on First Street and welcome everyone to enjoy or create their own little bit of Scandal!”
A stylish new haven for morning coffee and crullers, alfresco lunches, weekend brunches, chilled out dinners and post-work drinks, School For Scandal is the new neighbourhood school to enrol in this August.
