Unique luxury private members’ club Home Grown has appointed Sophie Chaney as General Manager, ahead of its opening on Great Cumberland Place, Marylebone in January 2019.
With 25 years of hospitality expertise, Sophie will lead on all operations at Home Grown, London’s newest private members’ club aimed at bringing together high growth entrepreneurs, investors and business innovators from a wide range of sectors, industries and countries.
Home Grown will offer a carefully curated business learning events programme, designed to help members grow and develop their businesses through collaborations with investors and like-minded individuals. The programme will include sector specific networking evenings, talks by renowned business leaders, mentoring sessions, leadership forums, and invite-only ‘entrepreneur-meet-investor’ suppers.
Previously Operations Director at Portico (WSH Group), Sophie will draw on her extensive experience of the luxury hospitality industry to oversee a team of 100 talented hospitality staff in the day-to-day running of Home Grown, including the club’s restaurants, bars, events programme and 35 bedrooms. In this role, Sophie will also be responsible for business development, procurement, membership, recruitment and training.
In her previous roles at Gaucho, London and Six Senses Resorts & Spas in Bangkok and the Maldives, Sophie developed systems and implemented changes to organisational structures in order to deliver improved standards and results, working with the very best designers, architects, builders, event managers and food and beverage operators the industry has to offer.
