This Summer, Ben Murphy, Head Chef at Kensington restaurant Launceston Place, will welcome a host of some of the UK’s best chefs to join him in a series of one-off ‘Behind the Pass’ dinners. A celebration of British cooking and the diversity of styles and techniques found across our country’s restaurants, the line-up will include; Sat Bains (Restaurant Sat Bains), Florence Knight (Sunday Times columnist and cookbook author), Rowley Leigh (Chef & FT columnist) and Nicholas Balfe (Salon).
With menus dictated by the seasonal produce available on the day, Florence Knight will kick things off on 30th May as she joins Ben in the kitchen to create a six-course menu championing her pared back approach to modern British cooking. Next up on 12th June will be British stalwart Rowley Leigh who will be working with Ben to design a menu showcasing his pared back, classical approach to cooking. The penultimate dinner will see Nicholas Balfe step up to the pass alongside Ben on 26th June, where the pair will showcase dishes strongly guided by seasonal ingredients, sourced from local growers and suppliers before two Michelin starred chef Sat Bains travels down from his restaurant in Nottingham to join Ben in the kitchen on 24th July.
“I’ve been lucky enough to work with some amazing chefs in the industry over the course of my career, and I’m so humbled to be able to invite so many influential cooks into my own kitchen. From Nick and Florence’s care and innovation with ingredients, to Sat and Rowley’s pedigree this has to be one of my most exciting collaborations yet.’’ says Head Chef, Ben Murphy.
Launceston Place’s Behind the Pass Collaboration series will run from May – July, with each menu available for one night only.
