Woodforde’s Brewery, the award-winning Norfolk brewer, has appointed James Armitage as their Commercial and Marketing Director, a new role designed to strengthen the senior team and help implement the company strategy and drive national growth.
With over 25 years’ experience within the leisure retail sector, Armitage joins from Ei Group, the largest portfolio manager of pubs in the UK, where he was Sales & Marketing
(Group Services) Director for over four and a half years. Prior to that he was Marketing Director of Brakes Group, the UK’s leading food service provider.
Armitage will lead the commercial, sales and marketing teams to continue building an iconic Norfolk beer brand, driving a National sales programme in the on-trade and rapidly developing off-trade as well as establishing the brewery site including the Brewery Tap pub as a destination venue.
James Hughes, Woodforde’s CEO said Armitage’s appointment is a key factor for the delivery of the company’s growth plans. “It completes our senior team following the recent appointment of Neil Bain, who will focus on continued production of great quality award winning beer including Woodforde’s Wherry and Nelson’s Revenge, two of our most popular products.
