A Bristol restaurant is adding a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘liquid lunch’ this December by introducing the UK’s first Christmas dinner cocktail to its menu. The nation’s two favourite Christmas delights (Christmas lunch and booze) have joined forces into one mouthful and are answering all of our festive wishes.
On the first week of December, Buttermilk & Maple will launch the tipple which incorporates pigs in blanket fat washed Four Roses bourbon, chestnut liquor, sage, maple syrup and cranberry sauce. Forget Christmas dinner pizza or Christmas dinner in a can, this is one Christmas fusion that actually tastes DELICIOUS.
Festive red in colour, the drink is finished with a pig in a blanket, cranberries and a sprig of holly.
Created by bar manager and cocktail connoisseur Jimmy Rhodes – who is overhauling the bar’s cocktail menu for the New year – the drink will be the first of a full of fun cocktail menu, which includes further food inspired drinks plus unusual and never-seen-before concoctions:
“When you’re an adult, two of the best things about Christmas is the food and the booze, so I wanted to make a cocktail that joined these festive forces together. We’re trying to encourage our customers to try something new this Christmas and will continue to tempt their experimental sides in 2018 when our new menu will launch.”
