Bristol’s leading four-star hotel has installed the very latest in digital technology which will allow guests to turn their phone into a room key.
Available at DoubleTree by Hilton, Bristol City Centre on Redcliffe Way the new Digital Key is a new system developed by the Hilton group.
Customers that are Hilton Honors members, who have downloaded the Hilton Honors app and who book directly with Hilton can then select their desired room on their smartphone.
On the day of arrival the guest will receive a notification via an app on their phone. Once in the hotel the guest can go straight to the bedroom, by passing the front desk, and press a virtual “unlock” button on their phone to open their bedroom door.
John Dowling, general manager at the hotel said: “Once again we’re leading the way when it comes to improving our guests’ experience.
“We know that our guests are looking for more choice and control on their travels and through tools such as Digital Key and digital check-in with room selection, we are giving them the ability to personalise their stay at every stage, wherever they are in the world.
“More and more of us use our smartphones for a host of day-to-day functions such as online banking, ordering food or booking tickets for a show. What we’ve done is embrace that technology to improve the experience of our guests.
“It’s also the industry’s first-and-only tool that lets guests select the exact room based on the hotel layout and its outside surroundings and we’re hugely excited to be part of this ground breaking technology.
“We’ll still have our excellent front of house team so guests who would rather check in and out, face-to-face can still do so. All we’ve done is provide a different means for our guests to enjoy their stay with us.”
