After a hugely popular first run, Little Social’s Canadian pop-up Little Social…Eh! is returning to Mayfair from Monday 7th August – Wednesday 9th August.
With rustic cabane á sucre-inspired interiors created by Rosendale Design, chef patron Cary Docherty’s a la carte menu will once again celebrate the Canadian dishes of his childhood – with a luxurious twist. The pop-up menu makes use of Canada’s finest ingredients to reinvent home-grown favourites. Expect poutine topped with maple-glazed Morteau sausage, cedar planked salmon accompanied by lemon, dill and warm potato salad and many more. Plus, riffs on nostalgic sweet treats like Nanaimo bars, comprising a base layer of wafer crumb topped with custard-flavoured butter icing and covered in melted chocolate, Beaver Tails and Canadian butter tart for dessert.
To complement the food offering, Group Bar Executive of The Social Company, Jamie Jones’ selection of cocktails inspired by Canada’s best-loved ingredients will also be making a reappearance. The Maple Leaf Old Fashioned champions the country’s most famous export, maple syrup, combining it with Canadian whisky, coffee bean bitters and orange zest, while Ice Wine Spritz blends Canadian ice wine and fruit liqueur with citrus and Prosecco. Guests in the know will not be surprised to find Canada’s signature cocktail, the Caesar, also on the list. A twist on a Bloody Mary, it comprises vodka and clamato juice (a blend of tomato juice and clam broth) mixed with hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce and finished with a stalk of celery and wedge of lime.
Little Social…Eh! will create a taste of home for Cary’s fellow Canadians in London and an unexpected trip away for Londoners stuck at home in August.
