In its bid to stay at the forefront of innovation and work closer with key customers, Speciality Breads has announced the latest addition to its talented team of artisan bakers in Margate. The new role is that of National Accounts Development Chef and has been filled by Neil Smith.
With nearly 20 years as a professional chef behind him, Neil started his career at the Michelin starred Old Lodge at Limpsfield and then carried on to work at various prestigious hotels and restaurants in the South East including a period at The Ritz Hotel, London.
Neil then moved into the development, marketing and product side of the industry in 2000. This sidestep saw him move first to Ferndale as their Development Chef and Innovation Development Manager before moving to Brakes where he held a variety of roles including Marketing Manager of Desserts, Bakery and Ready Meals, Bakery Sales Development Manager, Head of Food Marketing and Head of Food (Brakes Professional Food Market).
The hiring of Neil Smith is a significant sign of Speciality Breads’ desire to stay at the forefront of bakery innovation. The role will see Neil work closely alongside New Product Development Manager Stewart Smith.
