Boki in Seven Dials blends the quality coffee industry experience with excellence in food and drink and a passion for design. Opening its doors end of July to an inviting location to eat, drink and socialise in central London, the all-day venue will deliver a creative menu for breakfast, lunch and in the evenings, exciting internationally inspired small plates. Customers can enjoy coffee, tea, carefully selected wines, craft beer and a specially created menu of bespoke cocktails and aperitifs that is paired with the evening dishes and can be savoured from morning to night.
Owners Boris Becker and Kim Mahony Hargreaves (Boris and Kim are Boki), have sourced the finest quality producers and suppliers to realise and deliver their passion for delicious, fresh and healthy high quality food…..with a few not so healthy indulgent treats included too. The menu will feature key influences from Becker’s international background in Asia, to Mahony-Hargreaves’ love of British quality producers of dairy, beef and cider from his home town in Herefordshire.
Featuring preferred supplier Allpress coffee – a favourite of the barista owners – along with natural teas, a selection of freshly made juices and smoothies will be made on-site during the day to accompany the delicious baked goods and pastries available.
Flavoursome signature dishes have been created from healthy breakfasts available such as Boki protein bowls with avocado, kale, tomato and poached eggs, or the McBoki muffin with bacon, avocado, egg and sriracha mayo. A range of sandwiches, quinoa, chicken and veggie bowls or fresh charcuterie plates are available for lunch or those who prefer a more indulgent treat – try the Boki Classic Sandwich – pastrami, pickles, Swiss cheese on toasted brioche.
The evening menu is available and offers a delicately balanced selection of small plates such as smoked beef brisket taquitos with smashed avocado and chilli slaw, slow cooked BBQ lamb mini tacos with peanut brittle, mint and sweet corn salsa, chorizo toad in the hole with Harissa yoghurt and crispy chicken skin crackling with lemon and paprika hummus.
Boki has also worked closely with industry renowned drinksmith Matthias Lataille, to create a specially created menu of signature cocktails to serve in the evening – from the Boki Espresso Martini and Boki coffee Negroni to the Clarified Milk punch. The expertly curated wine and spirits menu has been sourced from small, exciting international producers, not readily available across the UK, and expertly paired with the dishes.
Finally indulge in a mouth-watering range of desserts from soft marmalade cheesecake, freshly baked homemade biscuits, affogato with Allpress espresso, or the specially sourced cheese platter from Neal’s Yard.
Kim Mahony Hargreaves, Co-Founder of Boki says “We want to showcase delicious flavours – great tasting, high quality, and authentic produce – morning to night. Our first independent Boki venture aims to further evolve our previous coffee industry experience to provide our distinctive stamp to quality, creativity and innovation – from the suppliers sourced, dishes produced, drinks brewed, blended and paired to the atmosphere created and service delivered.
The 1200 square foot venue is located in a prime location to serve businesses in the area, residents, tourists, theatre goers, shoppers, and London’s food and drink enthusiasts. Serving 36 covers, Boki Seven Dials has a fast service espresso bar at the entrance for takeaways with coffee, and display of fresh daily food items such as sandwiches, juices and pastries. Table and window seating is available to enjoy larger plates and a large communal bar features at the back for a more relaxed feel.
Design is a strong element within Boki. Having already been shortlisted by The Restaurant and bar Design Awards for its 2015 pop up project with boutique hotel Urban Villa, the team has hand-picked Moscow based design agency Melspace to create its first stand-alone venue as it plans to roll out more locations across London under the Boki brand.
Julia Wilkinson, Portfolio & Group Restaurant Strategy Executive at Shaftesbury, added: “Boki’s unique offer and impressive interior makes it a fantastic addition to Seven Dials. We have no doubt their first West End coffee shop will thrive and make a great contribution to Seven Dial’s line-up of high quality cafés, bars, restaurants and boutiques.”
