Having expanded their popular chain of 60 Lagkagehuset bakeries across Denmark, leading bakers Ole Kristoffersen and Steen Skallebaek will open their third artisan bakery and restaurant in London, at the award-winning Crossrail Place in Canary Wharf. Crossrail Place is the most recent leisure development on the Estate and already houses a diverse range of dining options such as the Big Easy, The Breakfast Club and Sticks’n’Sushi.
Following the successful opening of the flagship store in St James’s Market development off Haymarket, plus a forthcoming boutique shop in Richmond, Ole & Steen will continue to diversify the growing tenant base at Canary Wharf with their delicious, all-day dining concept.
The menu at Ole & Steen’s new restaurant will include a selection of Scandinavian favourites such as cinnamon snegl, and flodebolle, delicious marshmallow puffs covered in dark chocolate and rolled in hazelnuts. The bakery will also serve up freshly baked breads including many varieties of rye bread, outstanding pastries and traditional open sandwiches.
Stuart Fyfe, Head of Retail Leasing, Canary Wharf Group, said: “We’re extremely excited to welcome Ole & Steen to Canary Wharf as part of our continual evolution and expansion. Our aim is to give customers the widest choice of food styles and tastes as possible. We continually look to expand our diverse portfolio of tenants and create a dynamic environment that not only offers a wide range of shopping and leisure destinations, but a place that resonates with the people who visit and live here.”
