Stamford Bridge, home to Chelsea Football Club, in partnership with official airline partner, Delta Air Lines, launched an exclusive matchday menu created by the airline’s culinary partner Linton Hopkins, Michelin-starred London-based chef, James Lowe and Chris Garrett Executive Chef for Levy Restaurants UK, the stadium’s catering partner.
The first menu, served in the Stamford Bridge hospitality boxes, on Sunday 11 December, was a brunch fusing American and British cuisine. Dishes included a roast pumpkin, stichelton, walnut and bitter leaves salad, Southern style buttermilk fried chicken and sticky toffee pudding.
Simon Hunter, Head of Venue & Brand at Stamford Bridge commented: “We are always looking for new and exciting ways to work with our sponsors in order to continue to provide a fresh and exciting Hospitality offer. This partnership with Delta, Linton Hopkins and James Lowe is a great example of us doing just that.
“With contrasting styles and approaches, the two chefs have come together to create a truly unique and delicious menu of hearty fusion dishes, perfect for a crisp winter’s day here at Stamford Bridge.”
Hopkins, who creates Delta’s in-flight menus from Atlanta to London Heathrow, is Chef-owner of a number of restaurants in his native Atlanta, Georgia. Hopkins is known for food inspired by traditional Southern American cuisine.
Acclaimed young Chef, James Lowe, owns Lyle’s in Shoreditch which is famed for its seasonal British classics with a modern twist.
