D&D London is proud to announce that during May and June the restaurant group’s #BlossomCity campaign raised an incredible £30,648.77 for The Gynaecological Cancer Fund: Lady Garden Campaign.
Launched on 1st May, D&D’s #BlossomCity was a group wide campaign to celebrate the spring. Restaurants across the group hosted array of flower-fueled pop-ups, blooming terraces and floral-themed dishes alongside Flower Power parties and McQueen floral installations. During the campaign, D&D London restaurants added a discretionary £1 donation to each table bill in aid of the Lady Garden Campaign.
Des Gunewardena, CEO, comments; “We are really pleased to have raised such a substantial sum for the Gynecological Cancer Fund off the back of our Blossom City campaign this Spring. We think that this is a very worthwhile cause and we have enjoyed, what has been for D&D, an exciting new partnership with the Lady Garden Campaign.”
The Gynaecological Cancer Fund is a newly established charity by 10 local London women, on a mission to raise funds and awareness about gynaecological cancers. They take a powerful two pronged approach; firstly to raise funds in support of Dr Susana Banerjee, a leading oncologist at The Royal Marsden Hospital, in her groundbreaking work into precision therapies for gynaecological cancer treatment. Secondly, the Lady Garden Campaign, a major awareness drive to increase women’s knowledge of the symptoms.
Mika Simmons, founder of The Gynaecological Cancer Fund, says of the donation; “We would like to say a huge thank you to D&D London for raising such a significant amount for Lady Garden Campaign as part of their Spring campaign Blossom City. It’s partnerships like these that are instrumental in helping us to continue the important work that we do”.
