Following a £1million investment, the Coaching Inn Group is reporting a three-fold increase in revenue at the Kings Head in Richmond, following a significant refurbishment.
Dating back nearly 300 years, the Kings Head, which was acquired by the award winning independent coaching inns operator, The Coaching Inn Group, earlier this year, has reopened its doors following the first phase of its refurbishment.
The 26-bed Kings Head Georgian property, which first opened in 1717, has benefitted from a sympathetic renovation of its restaurant, bar and accommodation and now boasts the Groups new Eatery & Coffee House concept, including a delicious new all-day menu featuring popular sharers, locally-sourced produce and an exciting new hot and cold drinks offering.
Founder and Managing Director, Kevin Charity, said: “The aim of the work was to give this historic coaching inn a new lease of life, whilst maintaining its Georgian architecture. We’re delighted with the outcome and have already seen a significant uplift in food and drink sales, with a three-fold increase in revenue since the refurbishment.
“The Kings Head is a great example of what we do and the locations we are looking to expand into, this historic property benefits from being in a prime location on the town’s square and we hope we continue to be known as the go-to-place in Richmond for family-friendly, relaxed all day dining.”
As part of the Coaching Inn Group’s £20million expansion programme, the Kings Head has benefitted from significant structural repairs and a sympathetic refurbishment, as well as the recruitment of 30 additional new staff members.
The Coaching Inn Group has 11 well-known hotels across Yorkshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Gloucestershire, Cambridgeshire and Wales and aims to add another four properties to the estate this year. The Group has built a strong reputation in the industry for transforming high quality coaching inns and revitalising their offer across food, drink and accommodation.
