Christie’s is delighted to announce that Master of Wine and Burgundy Wine expert Jasper Morris has agreed to consult for its International Wine Department. Alongside his ongoing commitments to Berry Bros. & Rudd, Jasper will be employed by Christie’s as a Senior Consultant devoted to the annual Hospices de Beaune auction.
Jasper became a Master of Wine in 1985, and specialises in wines from Burgundy. In 1990 he moved to the region and he now splits his time between his home in the Côte d’Or and the UK. In 2003 he joined Berry Bros. & Rudd, where he is employed as Burgundy Director. In 2010 he published Inside Burgundy, which received the André Simon award that year and is today considered a reference work for the region.
Jasper’s role will be to work alongside the Christie’s team during wine tastings and international events, promoting the wines of the Hospices de Beaune as well as developing global interest in the annual auction.
Since 2005 Christie’s has been honored to collaborate with the Hospices de Beaune in the planning and presentation of this prestigious auction and to ensure that the venerable institution continues to thrive and receive international attention.
The 156th Hospices de Beaune wine auction will take place on 20th November 2016 at 2pm.
