Triple Bottom Line Award procurement winners

November 27, 2015

The winners of the first annual Triple Bottom Line Awards for Excellence in the Supply Chain have been announced at a high profile dinner, attended by the great and good of the industry’s procurement professionals.

The National Trust, Sodexo UK & Ireland, Pret a Manger, the Casual Dining Group and two top universities were all revealed as category winners, each taking home a TBL15 Award – the ultimate recognition for leadership and innovation in procurement.

Triple Bottom Line theory

Triple Bottom Line theory measures an organisation by its profit, its impact on its communities and the way it operates for the benefit of the environment, and is becoming an increasingly important business practice as the issue of supply chain integrity continues to be a focus for the wider industry following a series of scandals.

The TBL Awards was launched to showcase organisations which demonstrate best practice, and to drive awareness of both the challenges of securing the supply chain and the solutions available.

“The food supply chain has been the subject of negative headlines for some time, but what we don’t see very often is the good so many companies are doing in this area,” comments Charles Miers, CEO of Footprint.

“TBL15 showcases the very best initiatives, and the company’s behind them who are driving forward a new, responsible way of thinking and doing business.  We want to show that doing business the ‘right way’ isn’t just about being nice but is a valid economic approach – there is huge opportunity in triple bottom line practices.

“We hope our winners tonight will help inspire the Foodservice Industry at large to join the conversation, share their thoughts, and concerns, around the challenges and start making even the smallest changes to their policies for the benefit of the entire supply chain.”
