In a month in which the Old Swan & Minster Mill celebrates the Tattinger Conde Nast Johansen Award best country house hotel win and the beginning of an exciting spa development, owner Lana de Savary has brought in a general manager to take the hotel forward into the next stage of its exciting development. The property is a luxury five star, 55 bedroom inn and boutique hotel, set in the beautiful Cotswold village of Old Minster.
Alan Dooley will be replacing Patrick Jones who after 3 years with the hotel, is leaving to pursue a new opportunity at Tewksbury Park. Alan has considerable experience working in the independent market spanning over 20 years in the hotel and hospitality sector in the UK. He has gained remarkable knowledge in the industry, having previously worked at the Crazy Bear Hotel in Oxfordshire and Danesfield House Hotel & Spa, Marlow on Thames. Prior to starting at the Old Swan & Minster Mill, Alan was general manager of Pavilion Business Members Club in Kensington. He has a great eye for quality and detail, and is a natural host at a luxury 5 star level.
Situated in the Cotswold village of Old Minster between Witney and Burford, the Old Swan captures the charm of bygone years, with the laid-back atmosphere of a gastro inn with creative dining based on fresh, local ingredients. The Minster Mill offers more contemporary rooms, as well as three individual reception and events areas. Nestled at the heart of Old Minster with a history spanning almost 600 years, the Old Swan & Minster Mill is quintessentially English, offering the perfect location to explore the Cotswolds.
