Bar/restaurant group Darwin & Wallace, has acquired a fourth site in the West London neighborhood of Chiswick. Due to open in Spring 2016, the all day bar and restaurant will be located at 197-199 Chiswick High Street, on the former site of the old fire station.
The large site will serve the local audience who will enjoy an all-day dining venue and stylish bar, as well as a spacious outdoor courtyard area. Open all day and evening, it will serve morning coffees through to night caps and everything in between.
The announcement of the fourth site quickly follows the announcement of a Richmond property due to open in November 2015 and demonstrates Darwin & Wallace’s commitment to opening unique properties that reflect the atmosphere and location of London’s local villages.
The expansion of the group is also testament to the success of its No.11 Pimlico Road and No.32 The Old Town Clapham (pictured top) sites which opened in 2012 and 2014 respectively.
“Each of our bar/restaurants is a unique representation of the community it serves, with interesting and contemporary interiors. By working with a group of exciting young designers who are ahead of the curve we are eschewing standard, cookie cutter decor and creating stand out sites” says Mel Marriot, Managing Director of Darwin & Wallace.
Darwin & Wallace is the brainchild of Managing Director Mel Marriott, who has considerable experience in the creation of female-friendly and food led bars on the UK High Street, most notably as brand manager of All Bar One. Darwin & Wallace, which launched in August 2012, develop contemporary bar/restaurants predominantly in affluent London ‘villages’. The group is backed by The Imbiba Partnership whose current projects include Camm & Hooper who own Tanner & Co., the Banking Hall and Victorian Bath House and Ruth & Robinson who own The 14th Colonie in Clerkenwell.
