The New Ellington Hotel in the heart of Leeds city centre has been put up for sale, with hotel specialists Colliers International instructed to market the boutique hotel for offers in the region of £2.5 million.
The hotel is being sold on behalf of RBS which recently completed the development of this new hotel which is located at 23-25 York Place within Leeds’ central business district. The New Ellington Hotel is a full service hotel with bar and restaurant as well as meeting and conferencing facilities. The boutique-style hotel provides 34 en-suite bedrooms, alongside contemporary boardrooms and a popular bar called the ‘Gin Garden’.
With an exclusive reputation and discreet location, The New Ellington is one on the few hotels in Leeds which is regularly used to accommodate musicians following performances at nearby music venues such as the First Direct Leeds Arena and O2 Academy. Olly Murs and Ed Sheeran are just two of the world famous artists who have chosen The New Ellington when visiting the city recently.
Leeds transformation
Julian Troup, Head of UK Hotels, Colliers International, said: “It’s not often that hotels in the centre of Leeds come to the open market, so we expect to see a great deal of interest from a wide range of potential buyers eager to acquire a piece of real estate together with a successful hotel business in one of the UK’s fastest growing cities.
“Leeds city centre is set to be transformed over the coming months and years as plans for the former Yorkshire Post newspaper site come to fruition – the new mixed-use scheme will act as a gateway to the city centre and The New Ellington Hotel can only benefit from its close proximity to such a transformational scheme for the city.”
