Cereal Killer cafe was amongst local businesses targeted by protesters against gentrification in the area of Brick Lane, London on Saturday night.
The cafe, which specialises in serving a wide choice of breakfast cereals priced from £2 per bowl, had graffiti scrawled on its windows and facade, including the word ‘scum’, whilst the protesters shouted and threw paint at the cafe frontage outside.
The Cereal Killer Cafe is located on Brick Lane in London, and the attack frightened staff and guests as protesters – some wearing masks and carrying burning torches – carried out their protests on Saturday night.
Apparently, the protesters were objecting to the increasing ‘gentrification’ of Shoreditch, where property prices are rising sharply at the expense of affordable housing and traditional community.
On the other hand, Cereal Killer cafe and incoming businesses are also attracting visitors and business – and creating jobs.
