Jones & Jones at Chamberlain’s

April 30, 2015

Chamberlain’s Restaurant has announced the appointment of a new head chef: James Jones, younger brother of executive chef Andrew.

Jones the younger trained at Chelmsford College and, like his sibling, honed his skills at Claridge’s. He has worked with Andrew on a number of previous occasions and is well acquainted with Ally Dale, who heads up the outside catering side and events side of the Chamberlain’s operation – they also worked together at Claridge’s.

“Our outside catering business is flourishing,” said Andrew Jones, “and in the past, when I needed to, I could call upon Ally’s skills to assist me in the restaurant kitchen. But Ally is now constantly busy with events and it has become evident that we need to have two separate head chefs, one for each side of the business. And who better than James, an ex-colleague of both Ally’s and mine?”

Most recently James has been head chef at Ye Olde White Harte Hotel in Burnham-on-Crouch, but his career also includes head chef roles at The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club and the Contented Sole fish restaurant.
