D&D London has acquired Madison, the rooftop restaurant and bar located at One New Change in the City.
Situated on the sixth floor roof terrace of Land Securities’ One New Change landmark retail and leisure destination next to St. Paul’s Cathedral in the City, the 130-cover Madison Restaurant and Bar offers spectacular views of the City skyline including St Paul’s right through to the London Eye and Tate Modern on the Southbank. Encompassing two venues, the restaurant serves an all-day brasserie menu, while the tapas and cocktail bar stocks an extensive wine, champagne and cocktail list.
Des Gunewardena, Chairman and CEO of D&D London comments:
“This is an absolute stunner of a site with amazing views over the City. We will in due course be making some changes to the food concept, to the service and also to the physical fabric of the venue. But this is a very successful business and so we will maintain the overall concept of the restaurant, bar and outdoor terraces.”
D&D acquired the business from the administrators of Greenwich Inc. and Madison, which was launched in 2011 by entrepreneur Frank Dowling. It will represent D&D’s ninth venue in the City alongside Coq d’Argent, the Royal Exchange, the restaurants at the Old Bengal Warehouse and Michelin-starred Angler restaurant at South Place Hotel.
