Lifestyle Hospitality Group (LHG), a Devon-based multi-million pound hospitality business, has welcomed talented Executive Chef, Richard Hunt, as the company’s Group Development Chef.
The new role is to ensure high standards are maintained across the group and the appointment comes at a vital time as LHG is experiencing considerable growth and the company’s successful restaurant franchise – Tiger Bills – has just announced a Master London Franchisee and is imminently launching in Asia.
James Eyre, director and owner of LHG comments: “We are really excited to be welcoming Richard to our team, especially at such a crucial time when we are launching one of our offerings overseas.
Richard will be responsible for developing menus, concepts and innovations across the group and we are really looking forward to seeing the changes he will make.”
With over 25 years’ experience in the catering sector, including TV appearances with Aled Jones, Kirstie Allsopp and Matt Dawson, Richard has achieved success at all levels, from transforming the fortunes of large hotels, to catering to the discerning clientele of private clubs.
Richard says: “This is an exciting new role for me – I have been cooking for over 25 years and have loved every minute of it, but this is what I love best, sourcing the best quality produce from trusted suppliers and developing those relationships, designing new menus, working with talented chefs and front of house staff and just generally making sure the customer is happy.”
LHG has a series of successful businesses, ranging from restaurants and pubs to entertainment venues, and one of Richard’s first projects was to turn his expert eye on The Gissons – a restaurant and carvery based in a prime location on the A38 just outside Exeter. Richard has completely redesigned The Gissons’ menu to focus on great British classics, produced locally wherever possible.
Richard has a string of accolades to his name, among which are a number of AA Rosettes he has helped to achieve. He has also cooked for the rich and famous at a private members’ club and created a record-breaking cream tea.
