It’s a busy time for Tesco: the acquisition of Giraffe, Harris + Hoole for coffee, bakery chain Euphorium, and now the introduction of its ‘Decks’ concept.
Decks is being trialled in their Coventry Arena store, and is described as a new food concept that’s about real, honest, fresh food, simply cooked.
All the food is presented for guests to see and select for themselves on ‘Decks’ – and there’s a choice of breakfast deck, pastry deck and roast deck.
For breakfast, customers are offered traditional English cooked breakfasts and porridge, toast, yoghurt & fruit. For lunch and dinner, it’s British & Irish roast meats (Rib of Beef, Gammon, Pork and Chicken) to make a deli sandwich or a roast meal, with freshly steamed vegetables or salad.
There is a mixed service style – the meat is served by Tesco’s expertly trained kitchen team and guests then help themselves to vegetables and salads.
A Tesco spokesperson commented:
“Decks offers customers fresh food at excellent prices, with lots of great healthy options available. It’s a new food concept that we’re trialling in our Coventry Arena store, and we look forward to seeing what customers think.”
