In another vote of confidence in the booming UK coffee shop market, major Italian coffee brand Lavazza has announced its ambitious plans to take on Costa Coffee, Cafe Nero and Starbucks.
Property agents Cushman and Wakefield have been appointed by Lavazza, with the intention of opening up to 400 coffee shops across the UK – branded as Lavazza Expression. The London area will see up to 50 shops, beginning with outlets scheduled to open in Villiers Street (next to Charing Cross station in Central London).
Lavazza is proceeding based upon its own research, and UK experience of their concession located in Harrods and a single shop which opened in the Trafford Centre in Manchester last November.
