Villeroy & Boch are renowned for nurturing young talent in the hospitality sector. Each year, the iconic tableware brand takes the winners of the Master Chefs of Great Britain Young Chef of the Year, the British Culinary Federation Young Chef of the Year, the Craft Guild of Chefs graduate award winners, the Restaurateurs Association Young Chef Young Waiter winner and the Acorn Scholar of the year for a 2-day study tour of Villeroy & Boch’s home in Luxembourg.
This year, the trip included a visit to the Villeroy & Boch production and decoration centres in Mettlach, lunch at Castle Saareck, a visit to the Villeroy & Boch museum and culminated in a dinner at the Windsor Restaurant. The guests enjoyed the Bocuse D’Or meal from owner, Chef Jan Schneidewind. This was particularly enjoyed by Kristian Curtis (of Simpsons Restaurant) who was the commis chef in the Bocuse D’Or cook offs in Brussels for Adam Bennett.
The trip culminated in a creative session at the outlet centre in Luxembourg, where the team participated in a plate decorating session and a lunch at the Aubergine restaurant, followed by a walking tour of historic Luxembourg City
