The Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics have encouraged award-winning Pieminister to dish up two new ‘special edition pies’, both made in Britain using ingredients sourced locally to the Pieminister kitchens.
The Lovely Jubilee pie
First up is the Lovely Jubilee pie designed for a thoroughly British banquet. Made with free range British chicken in a delicately curried Coronation-style sauce laced with mango chutney, sweetcorn and coconut, this pie wouldn’t look out of place at a garden party at the Palace!
Whether you’re planning to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee with a street party, or just want to try something new at home, this is a truly ‘majestic’ pie and will be available to buy from late April 2012.
Pieminister’s Tristan Hogg says,
‘Street Parties have made a bit of a comeback in recent years and we couldn’t resist creating a royal pie for the nation’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. It tastes gorgeous served with good old mash, peas and gravy, but you could also try it with buttered Jersey Royal potatoes and a herb salad, or simply serve with a generous helping of mango chutney.’
And for those wishing to organise a street party this year, there’s the annual Pieminister Street Party Prize Draw for a chance to win Pieminister pies and more for their street! Visit pieminister.co.uk for full details and an entry form.
A sporty pie for Olympians?
For a sporty pie with a bit of kick this summer, there’s the Sebastian Cow pie, made with British beef steak and beans slow-cooked in a chipotle chilli and tomato sauce.
Available from early June and throughout the summer, will this be the pie favoured by Olympic athletes? – or maybe Andy Murray at Wimbledon!
And, though we note that Pieminister are apparently not yet available in Football Clubs – or The Football Pie League would surely have reported on them – perhaps this ‘sporty pie’ will persuade one to make them a pre-season signing?
These are just two of the pies in Pieminister’s crown. To view their full range of award winning pies and sausage rolls, visit www.pieminister.co.uk.
