Contractor John Sisk is now believed to be in prime position to undertake the highly competitive interiors contract in what will be London’s highest hotel, the Shard building.
The Shangri-La Hotel will be located across 18 floors at The Shard, London establishing itself as a landmark piece of architecture on London’s South Bank.
At 1,016 feet high, The Shard is regarded as one of the most ambitious architectural endeavours in the United Kingdom. Its height will make it one of the tallest buildings in Europe, while its soaring spire shape will make it one of the most distinctive.
The lavish fit-out is worth circa £40m and will be is a major coup for Sisk in a very competitively bid London fit-out market.
The contract will include the fit-out of 195 rooms starting on the 34th floor going all the way to the 52nd floor at top of the building, where there will be a luxury spa.
