The HACCC Festival saw 48 top London hotels participate in a charity football tournament on Sunday 18 September 2011. The event raised £15,000 for Springboard, which helps young adults and disadvantaged teenagers gain experience in the hospitality and catering sector.
Guoman Tower Hotel emerged as the overall winners after a close final with the Lancaster London, last year’s champions.
David Abercrombie from Guoman Hotel said,“On behalf of everybody at Guoman Tower and especially the Tower football team who were crowned HACCC Festival Champions 2011, thank you HACCC Festival for a well organised day as we all had a wonderful time. We look forward to defending our title in 2012”.
Second place was won by Firmdale, with Swissotel taking third position, and Hilton Park Lane winning the fourth trophy.
Colleagues and families came to support the teams at the King’s house Sports Ground in Chiswick. The family event featured fairground rides, live entertainment, massage parlours and food stalls.
The grand finale of the day was a George Michael tribute, who looked and sounded exactly like the real thing, in fact quite a few of the audience standing in front of the stage were convinced they were looking at and listening to the George Michael.
The fun day was organised by Paul Gilley, Chairman of the HACCC Festival and Managing Director of PJ Search and Selection, and supported by volunteers from various sectors including Springboard, Peace One Day, HIT Training, HandCNews, Duet Academy and Luxe PR.
